In the year 1994, Dr. Hossein Askariyan Abiyaneh (Chairman of the Board of Webco and professor at Amir Kabir University) decided to build a relay testing device after consultations with various professors abroad.

Dr. Farzad Rezavi (CEO of Webco) was a student of Dr. Askariyan Abiyaneh at the master's and doctoral levels and had also collaborated with him during his bachelor's degree, and he is one of the founders of Webco.

In the year 2004, with the support of the regional electricity companies of Tehran, Zanjan, and Isfahan, contracts for one device each were signed. Engineer Barzegar was responsible for hardware and Engineer Sadaqat for software, and a device named RENAISSANCE was built, which had conventional dimensions. This device also had very weak hardware and software accuracy, and the software capabilities were still limited. In the fourth plan in 2009, a one-year contract was signed with the regional electricity company of Semnan. The CPRT100 device was built with dimensions similar to the previous version, which had acceptable hardware accuracy but very limited capabilities, and the software had many problems. The hardware was overseen by Engineer Faroghi and the software was the responsibility of Engineer Kabirnia. After the construction of this version, the group concluded that building a device at this level of technology in Iran would ultimately lead to no success. Engineer Barzegar's group also announced that they would sell the device separately in Iran, and several devices were sold by them to various individuals across Iran, in which Amir Kabir University, Dr. Askariyan, and Dr. Rezavi had no role in the sale. In the year 2010, the group concluded that financial support could be obtained from various sources, and the device was redesigned and built again. Finally, in the year 2013, a contract was signed with the Scientific and Technological Vice Presidency of the Presidency for the construction of a national tester and relay, and it was decided to establish a knowledge-based company where all activities, including research, design, and ultimately construction of the device, would be carried out.

Initially, Webco's decision was to produce several products, but shortly after, it was concluded that if the company focused on two products, it would have a better impact on product quality. This process started in the year 2013, and the first product, AMT105, was produced in October 2015 and was used and tested in Metanir and the regional electricity company of Bakhtiar for the first six months.

Initially, the regional electricity company of Tehran supported this project. The working system was such that hardware and software were entrusted to individuals outside the university who were in contact with students, and Dr. Askariyan along with Dr. Rezavi only had oversight responsibilities. Research and scientific materials were prepared with the help of the university's students, and these individuals took charge of its construction. The first device named CPRT was built in the same year, with Mr. Amiri and Mr. Karimi respectively responsible for hardware and software writing. The project duration was two years, resulting in a device with very large dimensions and very low and weak hardware and software accuracy.

After the aforementioned version, in the year 2000, TREC signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Amir Kabir Industrial University (AUT) and worked with the same technical team, leading to the production of CPRTP with two small suitcase pieces. The hardware accuracy remained low and weak. TREC purchased two more CPRTPs, and two important decisions were made in the year 2016, marking the main start of the company's sales that year. The first decision was to create a Telegram group so that everyone could express their opinions in the group to utilize these opinions for device improvement. This led to the addition of very good options to the device. The second decision in January 2017 was that whenever a hardware problem arose in the device, it should be documented on the website and Telegram group so that all users could be informed about the correction process. These two decisions significantly contributed to optimizing hardware and adding software options. In October 2016, the first groups within the Ministry of Oil were encouraged by contractors to use the device. Initially, due to the advanced technology of the tester device, there were specific concerns in this regard, and the groups related to the Ministry of Oil were very reluctant to accept using this device. However, by the end of 2016, the AMT105 device was able to demonstrate good performance compared to foreign devices, which was ultimately approved in various phases in Assaluyeh, and the company was able to enter the vendor list of the Ministry of Oil in October 2017. In January 2017, it was decided that the AMT105 would not only be used for relay testing but also for various applications such as switch testing, CT testing, transformer testing, etc.

Currently, the relevant functions have been added to the device, and to date, approximately 870 testers and about 118 relays have been sold, with electrical engineers across the country using them. The knowledge-based company Vayana Amir Kabir Quality Electricity Monitoring (Webco Amir Kabir) was established in the year 2014 by the order of the Scientific and Technological Vice Presidency of the Presidency with the aim of building a national relay device and national relay tester under the supervision of Amir Kabir Industrial University (Polytechnic of Tehran).

AMT105 is the first industrial product of this company that entered the market in mid-2015, and within eight years, more than 870 relay testers have been delivered to major centers in the electricity, oil, gas industries, and universities. AMT105 is a general solution for testing various relays and protective equipment, power transformers, current, voltage, voltage-capacitive, power switches, cables, and thermal sensors. With the following features, it provides the necessary capability and capacity for testing various electromechanical relays and protective equipment: six 32-ampere current sources (64 amps three-phase, 128 amps single-phase), four 150-volt voltage sources (450 volts single-phase), integrated current and voltage outputs, eight analog binary inputs, two high-precision DC current and voltage analog inputs, four binary outputs, and a DC voltage source (with a capacity of 212 volts). The AMR-M protective relay is a multifunctional intelligent electrical device (IED) that, due to its protective, monitoring, and control functions, can be used as primary and backup protection in HV networks and as protection for motors and feeders in MV networks.
